Research into Stress and IVF

January 28, 2005

IVF is a very stressful process and we are looking at how it can be made less stressful.

We are doing a study and would like to listen to your experiences of IVF.

We would like to listen to your experiences, thoughts and views of IVF and although you don' t have to participate it would be helpful if you did.

We feel that the results of the study could help to make IVF a less stressful process and help other women going through IVF.

Additionally, it is an opportunity to share and ventilate your feelings, which in itself may help to relieve some of the stress

It involves 2 or 3 interviews. We hope each interview will last at least half an hour and will be arranged at a place and time convenient to you.

The first interview would preferably be in person and subsequent interviews by telephone at your convenience.

The interviews will be recorded to give an opportunity to listen to what you say more carefully. The tapes will be coded and stored securely so that no one can trace what is being said to you. Once the project is completed the tapes will be destroyed.

Whether you participate or not will not affect your treatment and you are free to withdraw at any stage.

Although you don' t have to participate it would be very helpful if you do. If you decide to take part please contact me, Mariam, as early as possible on 0113 2171078 or you can e-mail me at abraham.cherian@ntlworld.com

I will also be very happy to answer any questions you may have.
